The Story of Milk and Honey Bakery
Hi! I’m Jessica, and I’m the person behind Milk and Honey Bakery. I wanted to share a little bit of the story behind the name and my business in general. First off, I am a one woman show, home baker, making ‘from scratch’ cakes, cupcakes, and desserts for celebrations, weddings, and birthdays in the Clermont / Winter Garden area ( also serving Orlando).
Over a decade ago, I began my journey into culinary work. I was following my passions and gave up attendance at a major university to live my life creating art through food. After a few years of culinary school I found myself with carpal tunnel and back problems. Despite walking through that wilderness, facing fears and ups and downs in life, my passion for art in food never died.
I started a home bakery in my home state of Texas in June 2016. I loved what I was doing but God had other plans. My husband became severely ill in mid 2018 and eventually I put my cake dreams on hold to help with our family business, which we unfortunately had to shut down.
In September of 2019, we followed what we felt was a move God opened up for us to Clermont, Florida. I intended to get back into creating my edible art but felt that it wasn’t time just yet. I was in a season of rest, growing in my relationship with Jesus, and focusing on my family after the difficult few years we had. What I found during this time was that my passion for loving on others through my skills and talents as a baker grew stronger as I found myself growing in my relationship with Jesus. I have also received so much love and support from my new amazing network of family and friends. God has led me to my promised land flowing with milk and honey and I want to share my art with you!
